A passion for food and family
For Amy and Damien, food has always been a way to bring people together. Amy, originally from Thailand, moved to Australia at 18 to study English and commercial cooking. Her culinary skills and passion for Thai cuisine have flourished ever since. Damien, born and raised in Australia, started in hospitality as a teenager before spending 25 years in advertising. Their paths crossed seven years ago, leading to a shared vision of creating a restaurant that feels like home.
Since taking over Mountain Thai six years ago, Amy and Damien have been dedicated to delivering dishes infused with love, tradition, and fresh ingredients. For them, cooking isn’t just about feeding people, it's about creating memorable moments, just as they experienced growing up in their own families.
Authentic Thai cuisine with a personal touch
Mountain Thai stands out for its unique approach to Thai cuisine. Amy’s incredible palate ensures that every dish is crafted with authenticity and care, much like a home-cooked meal prepared with love. The restaurant also incorporates homegrown herbs, such as mint, spring onion, Thai sweet basil, and tomatoes, bringing an extra level of freshness to every plate.
Pairing food with the right beverage is also a priority at Mountain Thai. Damien’s passion for wine has led to a thoughtfully curated selection that perfectly complements Thai flavours, elevating the dining experience for guests.
